Valley Policy Reminder --

Starting 9/1/16, no player can take the ice (practice, games, preseason or regular season) without first being registered with both VYHA and USA Hockey. Last season's USA Hockey registration expired on 8/31/16.

Paying your travel deposit does not register you.  You must still register your player for the season separately although the deposit will be counted toward your player’s registration fee. If your player is not yet registered, please register online HERE.

How to use the projector in the Elders Room at Onondaga Nation Arena

You can call Onondaga Nation Arena to book the Elders Room if you'd like to review game videos with your team or meet for other reasons. We need to make arrangements to store the VGA cable referenced in this guide at Tsha. For now, if you would like to borrow it, please email .

Valley also owns a camcorder that can be borrowed by any coach or manager to video games. It only comes with a small table-top type tripod. Email   to borrow it.

The New York State Amateur Hockey Association, in compliance with the Affiliate Agreement, employs a policy to screen coaches, on-ice officials and volunteers who have regular, routine or frequent access to minor-age players, whether girls or boys, under the age of 18. This excludes players who are over 18 playing on teams containing under 18 year old players, i.e. 19 & Under Women’s teams.

In addition, it also requires them to complete the specific USA Hockey SafeSport training program provided by the USOC. Both are valid for a two-year period.

This year, it is required that all coaches, officials and volunteers be screened and complete SafeSport training prior to participating with their association. These volunteers include:

  • Members of the Association Board of Directors
  • Program Administrators
  • Coaches
  • Team Managers
  • Officials
  • Locker room monitors
  • Team drivers
  • Travel chaperones
  • Anyone with regular, routine or frequent access to youth participants

Background checks shall be reimbursed for all those required to complete them, including managers and board members. Use "Coach Clinic & Screening Reimbursement Form" above to apply.

Association Presidents are required to submit the combined 2016-2017 Screening /SafeSport Certification Forms by October 15th, 2016.
